The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially released the draft electoral rolls for West Bengal following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. This move comes after weeks of speculation and a contentious revision period that saw millions of names scrutinized for accuracy and authenticity.
On Tuesday, the Election Commission published the draft electoral rolls for West Bengal on its official website. Initially, not all constituency rolls were immediately available, but within minutes, the full draft was made accessible to the public. The draft rolls are now available both online and offline, allowing voters to verify their inclusion in the upcoming assembly elections scheduled for early 2026.
Ahead of the official release, booth-level officers (BLOs) across West Bengal had already received access to the draft lists for preliminary verification. The BLOs can view booth-wise draft rolls through a dedicated application, ensuring that local-level checks are conducted before the public rollout.
