  • Section Officer: 35 years.

Educational Qualification

College LibrarianMaster’s Degree in Library Science, Information Science or Documentation Science or equivalent with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade). Good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library. Must have cleared NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. as per UGC rules. Desirable: Acharya or MA in Sanskrit, Knowledge of Hindi/English, Epigraphy, Manuscripts.
Section OfficerBachelor’s Degree in any discipline. Three years’ experience as Assistant (Level-6) or eight years as UDC (Level-4) in Central/State Govt./University/PSU or equivalent in reputed private companies (turnover Rs.200 Crores+). Proficiency in Computer Operation, noting and drafting.
AssistantBachelor’s Degree. Three years’ experience as UDC or equivalent (Level-4) in Central/State Govt./University/PSU or equivalent in reputed private companies (turnover Rs.200 Crores+). Proficiency in Typing, Computer applications, noting and drafting.
Professional AssistantMaster’s Degree in Library & Information Science with 02 years experience in relevant field in University/Research/Central/State Govt./PSU/Library of autonomous bodies. OR Bachelor’s Degree in Library/Library and Information Science with 03 years experience. Knowledge of Computer Applications.
Upper Division Clerk (UDC)Bachelor’s Degree. Two years experience as LDC/equivalent in University/Research/Central/State Govt./PSU/Autonomous Bodies or equivalent in reputed private companies (turnover Rs.200 Crores+). Speed in English Typing @ 35 wpm OR Hindi Typing @ 30 wpm. Proficiency in Computer Operations.
Lower Division Clerk (LDC)Bachelor’s Degree. English Typing @ 35 wpm OR Hindi Typing @ 30 wpm (corresponding to 10500KDPH/9000KDPH). Proficiency in Computer Operations.

Salary and Benefits

Pay Scales (as per 7th CPC):

  • College Librarian: Academic Level-10 (Rs.57700-182400).
  • Section Officer: Level-07 (Rs.44900-142400).
  • Assistant/Professional Assistant: Level-06 (Rs.35400-112400).
  • UDC: Level-04 (Rs.25500-81100).
  • LDC: Level-02 (Rs.19900-63200).
